Intergenerational Strategy For Wales

Welcome to the Intergenerational Strategy for Wales funded by the Welsh Assembly Government.

This strategy has grown out of our Strategy for Older People and, whilst we see it as an essential step in taking intergenerational approaches forward, we recognise that further work needs to be undertaken to ensure that our approach is owned equally by all of the generations. We therefore see this strategy as defining the direction we intend to travel in promoting intergenerational approaches but we recognise that it will be further shaped and moulded by the involvement and engagement of the people of Wales.

One of our priorities will be the development of a National Network for Wales. To get involved join the network and gain access to a range of benefits.

We are working in partnership with RSVP Wales providing support to Local Authorities, ensuring all development is grounded into their policies and priorities. Two development workers have been appointed in the North and South of Wales.

  • “Local government in Wales has benefitted tremendously from our partnership with the Centre for Intergenerational Practice. It has been important in drawing attention to groundbreaking intergenerational work taking place across Wales and also critically in linking Wales to intergenerational practice in the UK, Europe and beyond. We look forward to continuing the partnership into the future”
Cllr Arnold Woolley, Spokesperson for Older People and Ageing, Welsh Local Government Association
