On 25 and26 January Linking Generations NI welcomed leading intergenerational practitioners from England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland to Belfast for two days. The group included representatives from Beth Johnson Foundation/Centre for Intergenerational Practice, Generations Working Together, Scottish Mentoring Network, and Age Action Ireland. Unfortunately a representative from Wales was unable to attend although hopes to be involved with future meetings.

An event on 25 January at Stormont Parliament Buildings – home of the Northern Irish Assembly - gave LGNI the opportunity to inform the visitors about their intergenerational work in Northern Ireland as well as introduce its work to high level political figures in attendance. This included Mike Nesbitt, MLA and Jonathan Bell and Martina Anderson, Junior Ministers at the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister (OFMDFM). This event was followed by a meeting at the LGNI offices where visitors learned more about the current work plan of LGNI and the possibilities for increased cooperation and exchange of information and ideas across the various jurisdictions. This group will continue to meet on a regular basis to promote the continued development of Intergenerational Practice on these islands.
