Regional Networks
Eastern England
The Centre for Intergenerational Practice is currently reviewing its programme for regional networks, and will be arranging new meeting dates in partnership with the National Youth Agency to be held late 2010/early 2011 ** watch this space for further information, details will be mailed out direct to network members **
The last Eastern meeting was held in Peterborough in March 2010, and was hosted by Peterborough City Council. Our thanks to Steve Pettican, Central Locality Manager for Peterborough Young People's Service, for organising and supporting the meeting.
Presentations from network members included:
- Sukaina Ladak gave a presentation on If I Can Dream; a six week youth led project supporting IG work in Peterborough
- Ged Stanton of St Thomas More R C High School and Pip McKever of North Tyneside Council: Good Practice in Establishing and Sustaining Intergenerational Practice (using scenarios and questions that encouraged discussion on specific issues or situations that may occur)
- Claire Kerrison of Age Concern Norwich and Sally Hilburn of Adult Education, Norfolk County Council shared the insight into a number of projects that had been developed and evaluated, and discussed future plans.
- Peter Simpson of Age Concern: use IG within PSE and Citizenship classes pupils manage their expenses on a budget sheet that relates to the current state pension/recording WWII memories and DVD/Oaks and Acorns
