The Centre for Intergenerational Practice (CIP) is an initiative of the Beth Johnson Foundation. The Centre was established in 2001 to support the development of intergenerational practice throughout the UK and to promote an understanding of the potential of intergenerational practice to address social issues.

The Centre provides a national platform for the development of intergenerational practice by:

  • supporting a network of member organisations and individuals with a commitment to intergenerational practice
  • influencing policy-makers
  • conduct events
  • gathering evidence and resources of the benefits of intergenerational practice
  • promoting the evaluation of intergenerational programmes and research into the impact of intergenerational approaches
  • administering an accredited Approved Provider Standard
  • fostering international links

The Beth Johnson Foundation works in partnership and collaboration with organisations and government, at all levels, to further develop intergenerational practice in the UK, Europe and Internationally. • 'It has been my great pleasure to have been connected with CIP from its earliest days. In a careful and considered way it has achieved a major impact on the development of intergenerational work both within the UK and internationally. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with CIP into the future. Congratulations on ten years of solid achievement’
